A great Introduction for younger girls and boys to STEM. They will get creative with tech and recreate a scene from a favourite book or compose and tell an original adventure, mixing coding with storytelling. Fun, engaging and low-pressure, no prior coding experience is required. For the Lifelong Learning Festivals Parents and kids have the opportunity to borrow a Ozobot robotic kit miniature line following robots which can sense colours and use that to understand instructions from our Western BACE Robotic Lending Library, to continue having fun learning together by completing self-paced activities.
Who is this challenge suitable for?
At the end of the festival, participants will have a chance to submit their work and go in the running to win a robotics kit.
This program is proudly supported by the City of Melton Libraries Team, if oversubscribed priority will be given to Parents and Kids residing in the City of Melton.
The Tech Heroes Club created by Western BACE and powered by the City of Melton Libraries Team is back for the Lifelong Learning Festival. Girls and Boys Aged 5-15 from the City of Melton can join in a range of free self-paced Robotics, Coding, Design and Tech challenges over the course of the Festival. Group and 1-1 online support will be provided by the Western BACE STEM Squad and robotics kits by the Western BACE STEM Lending Library. Additionally, as part of Lifelong Learning Festival, adults will be able to try their hand at adult only “Coding for Beginners” challenge.
